Handpoked tattoos are
slow art

These tattoos are meditative, embodied experiences that take you through every moment of transformation while marking your form.

There are no sounds, no vibrations and no machine.

Hand poke tattooing asks you to be present and in your body as each poke slowly takes you towards who you are becoming. Once we mark our bodies we can’t go back to who we were. It’s a gift to be in this transformation together, to be trusted to facilitate this moment for you is no little thing - trust is the currency of tattooing and I am honoured to be in this practice with you.

kk she/her,
tattoo artist

I’m Kk, a queer, cis, Polish Jewish and Romanian Jewish woman. I’m a land tender, a forest dweller, a sister, friend and daughter. I’m a ceremonial tattoo artist, a huntress, a facilitator of connection, I’m a rainbow seeker, a dream weaver and a puddle jumper. I work every day to better understand my ancestry and lineage while showing up to foster connection and relationships to the lands I live on and the Hul’q’umín’um’ and SENĆOŦEN speaking people they were stolen from. My Polish ancestors, for 10 generations were butchers and hide tanners, and I can feel it in my bones and in my hands whenever I wield a knife or watch flesh turn to food and fabric.

I do my best to live a life in ritual and reciprocity and in close relationship with all the food and creatures in my life. This means I hunt, scavenge, grow and forage for as much of what sustains me as possible.

I do my best to incorporate these ethics into my tattooing practice as well. My practice is a combination of the most environmentally friendly, body conscious and hygienic as possible.

I care deeply for you and your body as well as this incredible planet we inhabit.

I found tattooing in 2012…or maybe it found me. What began as an exploration of art turned into a means to co-create and collaborate, two of my favourite passions. While travelling throughout Asia and Africa from 2014-2018, I discovered ways of relating and living that I had never seen before, it was during these adventures that I began to tattoo as I do now. In 2016, I opened a tattoo studio and artist collective in Hanoi, Vietnam. In 2018, I moved to Salt Spring Island and in 2020, Anh Le and I opened up The Studio, on Salt Spring Island. In 2024, I dreamed a new dream, and with great support I opened up a new Mobile Tattoo Studio here on Salt Spring Island, this studio is filled with dreams, it’s the perfect place to collaborate nuzzled in downtown Ganges.

My hopes as someone who marks bodies and holds this space of transformation…

is to be the facilitator for you
to help you in seeing what’s already there
to hold the inherent ritual of this practice
to be there as you transform into who you become
to make art
to adorn
to laugh
and to simply be

creating the space for folx to adorn their bodies while feeling safe

First, we’ll determine if you desire something from my pre-drawn collection of work, or if you are searching for something custom.

For custom work, a 30 minute tattoo consultation is booked in which we get to dream into the tattoo together. This process will include 3 rounds of custom drawings with samples that incorporate your feedback. Once you have received all 3 drawings you will choose the one you like best, or the aspects of each that you like so they can be compiled for your final drawing and prepared for your session.

Clear communication and patience are what make this collaboration possible. These practices enable me to ensure that you have the tattoo you desire. The more clear, direct and compassionate we can be with each other, the better the tattoo will be for it. I’m attached toyou having exactly the tattoo you desire, and with clear communication I know we can get to this place together.

I am most passionate about eternalizing moments — our ability to mark the body to commemorate something, and with that marking we can relive that moment again and again.
